The Mission of the African American Heritage Society of Rutherford County is to discover, preserve, teach, share the heritage and history of African-Americans in Rutherford County, Tennessee.

We invite your interest and active participation in our efforts to learn and teach others about the incredible history of African-American people in our community, state and the world.
We desire to honor and recognize the journey, successes, struggles and failures of African-American people. A thorough understanding of this information will enable us to appreciate the foundations that our history has given us.
